What Is a Slot?

A slot is a narrow depression, perforation or opening. In ornithology, it refers to the notch in the primaries of certain birds that allows them to fly with smooth air flow over their wings. In field hockey and ice hockey, it refers to a position just in front of the opponent’s goal. A slot in a game’s schedule or sequence of events can be occupied by one or more teams. The term is also used to refer to the position of a player in a team’s lineup or order of play.

Online slot pay tables are built-in hubs of accessible information, containing all the relevant details for a specific game. They help players understand the game more thoroughly, gamble safely and enjoy it for longer. They are particularly useful when playing games with special symbols, such as wilds and scatters, that offer additional ways of winning.

The BigQuery scheduler enforces equal sharing of slots among projects that have running queries, within a reservation, and then within jobs in that reservation. In addition, the scheduler provides eventual fairness; for short periods, important jobs might get a disproportionate share of the available slots but eventually their workload will balance out again.

If you need more capacity to improve query performance, access more slots by adding to your reservation or creating another reservation. Each additional reservation adds 10 GB of additional slot capacity. The added capacity is immediately available to run queries. Access to more slots can significantly increase query throughput and decrease the amount of time it takes for queries to complete.
